You know that feeling when you’ve finally reunited with Yasuke, the sun is setting over Kyoto, and a historian asks you to go on a scavenger hunt across feudal Japan? That’s exactly what happens in the ‘A Collection of Crests’ quest — and honestly, it’s one of the more rewarding detours you can take. Some of these crests are hidden so well you’d swear they were designed by a shinobi with a grudge. But fear not! I’ve tracked down every single one, and I’m here to walk you through it so you don’t spend hours climbing the wrong tower. ✨

How to Kick Off the Quest
Before you even think about crest hunting, you’ll need to have progressed far enough in the story. This mission only opens up after you’ve attempted to assassinate Oda Nobunaga as Naoe and finally take control of Yasuke again. Once that dramatic reunion is behind you, make your way to Kyoto in the Yamashiro region. The quest giver is Ota Gyuichi, an old ally of Yasuke, holed up in a house southeast of Honnoji Temple in the southern part of the city. Chat with him, endure the lengthy (but beautifully acted) cutscene, and he’ll explain that he needs nine clan crests for his historical records. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, the game doesn’t give you any map markers — you’re on your own.

All 9 Crest Locations (with No Headaches)
Before you set off, a little pro tip: many of these crests are tucked away in high-level areas like castles and forts filled with enemies that can make short work of an under-geared Yasuke. Even though he’s a tank, you’ll still want to level up and equip some decent gear. Trust me, there’s nothing more embarrassing than getting cut down by a ronin while trying to push a crate. 😤
Crest 1 – Oda Clan Kamon
📍 Fukushima Ruins, Osaka (west of Osaka Castle, slightly north of Nishinomaru Garden)
Find the base of a tower. The entrance is blocked by a large crate, so just push it aside. The chest is immediately to your left when you enter.
Crest 2 – Tsutsui Clan Kamon
📍 Koriyama Castle, northwestern Yamato (east of the Lost Hills)
Head to the main tower at the back of the fort — it’s the one with the sole viewpoint. The entrance is on the northwestern side. Inside, the crest sits beside some stairs behind yet another movable crate. You’re going to befriend a lot of crates today.

Crest 3 – Akiyama Clan Kamon
📍 Uda Matsuyama Castle, eastern Yamato
Go to the viewpoint in the southern section. Climb the tower, but don’t go all the way up. Stop at the last platform before the roof. Inside the large room, deal with any enemies on the left, then move the crate on the opposite side to reveal this crest.
Crest 4 – Akechi Clan Kamon
📍 The Great Keep, Sakamoto Castle (on Lake Biwa, southwest of Mount Hiei)
This one’s a fight. The keep is crawling with guards, so clear them as you climb. Once you reach the top of the final stairs, turn around — the crest is right there behind a crate. Simple, but sweaty.
Crest 5 – Bessho Clan Kamon
📍 Miki, Harima region (west of Miki Castle)
A rare crest not tied to a viewpoint. Look for a house near the stables west of the main castle. Walk inside, and the chest is on the left behind a crate. Easy peasy.
Crest 6 – Hashiba Clan Kamon
📍 Hiraiyama Fort, north of the Warfields in Harima
Find the only house with its back facing a cliff. Enter from the opposite side. Inside, turn right and pull the crate toward you. Then, leave the house, immediately turn left, and jump through the window. Follow the short path right to the chest. I love how this one makes you feel like a real explorer.
Crest 7 – Shibata Clan Kamon
📍 Genbao Fort (east of Sotomo Gate)
Head to the viewpoint, then climb to the highest entrance on the upper left. Once inside, descend two flights of stairs into a large room. Defeat the two waiting guards, then check the eastern side — the crest waits behind a movable crate.
Crest 8 – Niwa Clan Kamon
📍 Tsuruga Castle, near Sotomo Gate
Instead of using the main bridge, hug the right parameter until you spot a break in the fence. Crawl through, and the house with the crest is immediately on your left. Slide inside, move the crate to the right, and grab it.
Crest 9 – Ikko Ikki Kamon
📍 Negoroji, Kii (southernmost city in the region, go to Negoroji Kunren-ba)
Head to the southwest corner of Negoroji Kunren-ba. Stay at ground level and enter the tower through the only opening. The chest is behind the stairs right in front of you. A fittingly chill end to the hunt.

Wrapping Up and Getting That Sweet Bow
Once all nine crests are nestling in your inventory, head back to Ota Gyuichi in Kyoto. Hand them over and you’ll be rewarded with 1,000 XP and the Legendary Bow – Falcon’s Eye. This thing is a level 13 beast that can fire multiple arrows in a single shot, making it an absolute game-changer for crowd control. Was the hunt worth it? Absolutely. Not only do you get a top-tier weapon, but the journey itself forces you to explore some of the most beautiful corners of the map. So what are you waiting for? Those crests aren’t going to find themselves. 🏹
