Let me tell you about the time I decided to clear Kameyama Castle without raising a single alarm. It's one of those Assassin's Creed Shadows locations that tempts you to just charge in with Yasuke and cleave through everything – and trust me, I've tried that. But you end up with a Wanted level that makes the whole ordeal twice as long. So this time, I relied on Naoe's shadowy toolkit, and the result was so satisfying I have to share every step.
Kameyama Castle is tucked away in the southeastern part of Tamba, north of the region called The Silver Lands. I fast-traveled to the Kameyama Kakurega just south of the castle and made my approach from the southern shore. No guards, no fuss – just the way I like it.
🏯 Getting Inside Without a Scratch
From the southwestern entrance I spotted a small shed near the water's edge. I leaped onto it, then scrambled up the castle wall like a spider. If you're doing this, make sure the guard on the walkway doesn't spot you – I hugged the southwest corner, waited for the patroller to turn his back, and silently took him out. From there I jumped across some scaffolding on the water, climbed up, and suddenly I was in the southwestern courtyard of the inner ring.

This is where the real hunt began. I used Eagle Vision constantly to tag threats – I can't recommend this enough. Let me walk you through each Samurai Daisho I eliminated.
🥷 The Five Samurai Daisho – My Stealthy Route
| Daisho | Location | My Assassination Trick |
|---|---|---|
| First | Inner core, just across the second moat from the entrance | Climbed the house in the southwestern inner courtyard, spotted him alone, dropped down for a quick air assassination. |
| Second | Central southern courtyard | He was completely alone – I just walked up behind him. Almost felt too easy. |
| Third | Eastern courtyard across the water | Dove into the water from the southeastern corner, crept up the stairs, shimmied along a wall to remove the overlooking guard first, then dealt with the Daisho from above. |
| Fourth | Northeastern path inside the castle | I emerged from the water using scaffolding, found myself right next to his patrol route. I tracked him through the wall with Eagle Vision and leapt out when he turned away. |
| Fifth | Northwest side, near the western wall | I moved along the castle edge to a building overlooking his courtyard. Waited until he reached the northwestern corner, then did a dramatic air assassination as he turned his back. |
I won't lie – the fourth and fifth Daisho gave me some tense moments. The fourth patrols along a narrow corridor, but the scaffolding exit puts you so close that a single well-timed strike ends it cleanly. For the final one, I dangled from a wall and shimmied around like a gecko until I was right above him. When he stepped into the corner, I didn't hesitate.
💎 Loot Heaven – What You Get for Clearing the Castle
With all five Daisho down, the castle becomes a treasure vault. I grabbed a key from a marksman guard in the bottom southwestern courtyard – he never saw me coming. That key opened three locked doors:
-
Door 1: In the same courtyard – three piles of resources to smuggle.
-
Door 2: In the southwestern inner courtyard (where I killed the first Daisho) – a locked shed with a chest, some minerals, and more resources.
-
Door 3: Right next to the second Daisho in the southern courtyard – two large piles of resources.
But that's just the start. I found chests everywhere:
-
The trapdoor building at the entrance (southwest courtyard)
-
A small chest by the guard in the inner southwestern courtyard
-
A chest inside the house at the start of that same courtyard
-
A chest near the spot where a guard overlooked the third Daisho
-
A lone chest in a small house along the northeastern corridor
-
Chinese Lacquered Furniture (a quest item!) inside the Tenshu, just one floor below the Legendary Chest
-
A small chest guarded by a large enemy on the lowest floor of the Tenshu
-
And a chest tucked away in a northern wall courtyard
🌟 The Legendary Chest & Viewpoint
The real prize sits atop the Tenshu. I dropped in through the trapdoor on the roof, took out the guard inside, and opened the chest to find:
-
3,000 XP
-
An Engraving
-
The Hidden Servant Kosode for Naoe – a stylish outfit that fits the stealthy theme perfectly

Right outside on the Tenshu roof, I also synced the Kameyama Tenshu Viewpoint. This gave me a fast travel point and a breathtaking view of Tamba – totally worth the climb.

If you're planning to assault Kameyama Castle, I hope my path saves you some time. The silent approach not only keeps the heat off but also feels incredibly rewarding – every Daisho falls without knowing what hit them. And all those chests? A beautiful bonus for any shadow warrior in 2026. Good luck out there!
